It's June 3rd! Where has the time gone? I feel like we just went straight from February to June. Winter has definitely been proving herself the last 3 days, we've had freezing mornings (this morning was 2 degrees) but surprisingly beautiful blue skies. I've been home sick today and have been pottering around the house sniffling and lying in the warm sun thats been streaming through the windows. The fireplace is on, the coffee machine is in full use, and I've even picked flowers from the garden. I love when its so cold outside and you walk inside and it's immediately toasty. Best feeling.
Although being sick is never fun, and I've sneezed about 325 times, today has actually been good to start sorting out travel plans. Jonny and I (along with my siblings & Dad) have booked to fly to Austria in December to spend Christmas with my mums family! Jonny has never been to Austria before or met that side of my family so I'm so excited to show him off and for him to see the Austria side of us which I'm so proud of. We're spending the month hiking, visiting family, and doing a little bit of travel, and then on the way back J and I are spending 9 days in Italy! We're going to try do a few days in Venice, Florence and Rome, but would love to hear from you if you have any tips or experience travelling Italy! What are the best places to go? I'm quite keen to go on a gondala in Venice, obviously its cliche and I've heard wildly overpriced.. but I reckon if everyone does it then there must be a reason for it right? ;) Florence I'm excited to stroll through the galleries and museums looking at all of the art. My mum told me a few years back that Florence & Siena were her favourite places in Italy purely for the art. She said those towns just have a beautiful feel to them.
Austria will be so good for us as a family and I can't wait to explore again all the places where my mum grew up and loved. It was a huge part of her which makes it a huge part of us. Hurry up December! ;)
